We are delighted to share some exciting news from Ripon House, we have welcomed not one, but two new Activity Co‑ordinators to our team.
Both bring with them a wealth of experience, alongside fresh energy, creativity, and a genuine passion for supporting women. From their very first days, they have already begun shaping innovative ideas focused on engagement, empowerment, and meaningful progression for the women at Ripon House.
At the heart of their approach is a clear commitment: placing women at the centre of everything we do
Building on Strong Foundations
Ripon House has always been proud of its activity programme, and our new co‑ordinators are keen to build on what already works well. By taking the best elements of our existing programme and enhancing them, they are introducing new, exciting opportunities designed to better meet the needs, interests, and aspirations of our residents.
Expanding Opportunities and Support
A key development is the ability to offer structured interventions and activities five days a week, ensuring that women have consistent access to support, engagement, and personal development.
Their approach focuses on:
- Increasing meaningful engagement
- Supporting confidence and independence
- Preparing women for their move into independent living
- Creating a safe, inclusive space for growth
Fresh Eyes, New Energy
With enthusiasm, innovation, and fresh perspectives, both co‑ordinators are already making a significant impact. Their ideas are centred on helping women feel supported, valued, and empowered to take the next steps in their journeys.
We are incredibly excited about what this means for Ripon House and, most importantly, for the women we support.
Watch this space, there is so much more to come.

Alastair joined the charity as a trustee in September 2017 and in September 2022 was elected as its chair.
Prior to joining Progress to Change, I worked across the voluntary sector, NHS and
